Single Form, Hot Heart

A hybrid, single-form — the petals open wide and stay open, more like a poppy than the layered doubles around her. The stems are thick, the leaves are too, and the whole plant runs sturdy. Cut early in season, she sets the tone for everything that follows: hot, summery, unhurried.

Origin

Our only single, and from the same workshop as our oldest red. Glasscock bred Flame in 1939, five years before he registered Red Charm — both varieties from the American breeder who also gave the trade Mother's Choice. The single form is the deliberate counterpoint to his more famous double, opening early in the season to mark its start.

I’ll see you right with this one. Pick a bunch size and a delivery date — I’ll do the rest.
