Duchesse de Nemours
Duchesse de Nemours is a pristine white. While being one of the oldest varieties, it still enjoys enduring popularity. The fragrance is quite unreal.
Bridal White, Quietly Fragrant
Globe-shaped, full-petalled — medium-sized, which is the secret to her popularity. Where bigger heads steal the show, Duchesse sits beside them and balances the bouquet. The brides know this: clean white, sized to combine, and the scent doing half the work for you. Mid-season picking, fully reliable.
Origin
One of the oldest varieties on any list — and that's not loose talk. Calot bred Duchesse de Nemours in France in 1856, taking on the collection of the Comte de Cussy and continuing it until 1872. A hundred and seventy years on the table, still in every bridal florist's catalogue. Some flowers earn their place once and keep it.
