Coral Charm
A large popular variety, known for its colour transformation while blooming.
Coral to Cream
Semi-double — and what Coral Charm gives you over the course of a vase week is unusual: every stage a different flower. Coral when she opens, then cerise, then orange, settling into soft cream. The stems are thick enough to give you the cut life of a heavier flower, even though the bloom itself runs lighter.
Origin
The colour transformation isn't accidental — it's what Wissing was breeding for. Samuel Wissing registered Coral Charm in 1964 in the United States; he made his name developing colour-changing cultivars, and Coral was one of his standouts. The American Peony Society awarded it the gold medal in 1986. The transformation runs in the genetics.
